RICE & SHINE
Rice & Shine began in 2019, when husband-and-wife team Quelly and Russel started cooking Filipino food from their family kitchen in Bath, delivering meals to local nurses and healthcare workers.
During the Covid lockdowns, they worked alongside Bath’s Filipino community to prepare around 700 hot meal packs for nurses. As demand grew, Rice & Shine expanded to private events, festivals, and community gatherings.
After launching their first pop-up in 2025, Quelly and Russel left their full-time careers to pursue their dream. In March 2026, Rice & Shine opened its first permanent restaurant in Bristol, bringing authentic Filipino flavours and family warmth to the city.
